MTV launches climate change ad

14 October 2008 17:17

MTV has launched an ad campaign in England to encourage young Brits to use less water in order to help prevent climate change.

MTV's Switch campaign is an effort to motivate people to make small changes which, MTV Switch believes, will help slow down the course of climate change.

The Switch series of adverts has been launched across the MTV network, which reaches 162 countries through 55 channels.

The UK advert may court controversy, however, as it encourages its audience to save water by reminding them not to flush the toilet too often.

It does this by showing people urinating in various public scenarios, such as in fountains and parks.

Ogilvy London worked with the broadcaster to create the adverts, which will run online and in cinemas, as well as on MTV's network.

Recruitment among marketing companies is currently looking precarious as IPA's recent Bellwether report found that marketing companies are suffering from a record decline in the amount of funding made available to them.
