OgilvyOne media jobs shake-up

UK media agency OgilvyOne London has had a re-shuffle of its top jobs, which could lead to a similar shuffle lower down the company, creating new media roles.

Following the departure of outgoing chief executive Mike Dodds, managing director Annette King has been promoted to chief executive, while deputy managing director Sam Williams-Thomas will fill the role vacated by Ms King.

Speaking of the new appointments, OgilvyOne Worldwide chairman Paul O'Donnell seemed confident that the right people had been given the top marketing jobs.

"It's always a pleasure to be able to reward talent and loyalty and the promotions of Annette and Sam are an acknowledgement of their excellent records in the fields of new business and account management," Mr O'Donnell told Precision Marketing.

Ms King had only been in her previous role since January before Mr Dodds left for the top job at Proximity London.

Both Ms King and Mr Williams-Thomas have been with OgilvyOne for a number of years and will now be determined to grow the agency's client list, which includes the likes of Cancer Research UK, BT and British Gas among others.

There is a real possibility that the new team will look to go on a sales drive, with the prospect of more media sales jobs opening up at the agency.
