A south-west London-based organisation has won government funding to
take on fifty new marketing and media employees between 18 and 24.
The
Media Trust is expected to create positions in research for its
Community Channel, marketing outreach and charity film production for
young people that have been out of work for long periods of time.
Some of the organisation's corporate members include the BBC, the Guardian Media Group, Sky and News International.
It aims to bring together media professionals with charities that may want to improve their marketing and communication skills.
Many
of the new jobs are likely to support the Community Channel, which
features documentaries and programming specifically about charitable
causes and organisations.
Earlier in the month, it programmed a selection of features to mark International Women's Day.
The
Future Jobs Fund set up by the government aims to create around 7,000
jobs for long-term unemployed youth, particularly for those living in
"unemployment hotspots".
