A marketing communications agency is launching a campaign to test the viability of a dating site for people over 80.
Forster Agency is calling on potential users and curious parties to vote on whether they think the site, called smittenkittensover80.co.uk, is a good idea, New Media Age has reported.
Visitors to the site will also be encouraged to put forward other ideas that could keep the older demographic using multiple channels to communicate, as well ideas for more conventional offline events.
A survey by Burst Media, reported in eMarketer.com, found that more than a quarter (25.9 per cent) of women over 65 claimed that they would feel disconnected if their internet enabled organisers were taken away from them.
In addition, separate research last month from the Nielsen Company claimed that over 12 million users are over 50 years old.
Responding to the demand, more marketers are working on online services that could attract this group.
