1 .What were your first impressions of us?
You were friendly, excitable and most of all highly interested in me and what I wanted to do.

2. How did we help you?
You guided me through various interview processes, going above and beyond the call of duty, offering extra help and insights where they were needed. Importantly, you were always available and always full of new opportunities, meaning I never got too disheartened if one interview was unsuccessful.

3. I wish I’d known when I graduated that....
Recruitment companies could be so friendly and helpful, and ease you into the job market at your own speed, helping you transition from university to working life.

4. The strangest interview question I’ve ever been asked is...
If you were stranded in the middle of a forest after a plane crash, with no map and no compass, before the wreckage of the plane bursts into flames, do you save a bottle of brandy or a hand gun?

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Think about what you are really passionate about and look for work in that area. This makes the whole process of preparing for interviews and attending them less daunting, as you are genuinely interested in meeting people in the industry, hearing their opinions and sharing your passion with them.

1. What were your first impressions of us?
Really friendly and helpful. Totally committed to getting to know me and well as my CV and finding jobs that would suit my personality as much as my experience.

2. How did we help you?
I received a phone call from the Graduate Recruitment Company almost immediately after applying to positions advertised on the Guardian Jobs website. We organised a meeting, I came in and chatted about my preferences and my ideal type of job, and from there various interview offers came my way, all of which really appealed to me. One of these interviews turned out to be the job I am starting soon. As I had come to expect from meeting my consultant and her colleagues, my soon-to-be job totally suits my personality and my experience!

3. I wish I’d known when I graduated that....
The Graduate Recruitment Company was so good at getting you to interviews. All those hours spent filling in grim online application forms for Times Top 100 companies were needless!

4. The strangest interview question I’ve ever been asked is...
I haven’t had any strange ones to be honest. Hardest is ‘What would your friends say is your
main weakness?’ – nightmare question!

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Be patient and keep smiling. You’ve got your whole life to get a job, so just steadily press on applying for jobs you actually like the sound of. Don’t panic! It goes without saying, but get it touch with the Graduate Recruitment Company ASAP!

Professional and easy to talk to.

2. How did we help you?
I had a difficult time trying to balance two potential job offers but the team helped to manage the situation as best as they could. Also, I found the sample questions a very good way to prepare for interviews.

3. I wish I’d known when I graduated that....
A degree doesn’t guarantee you a job. You need experience and to practise your interview technique.

4. The strangest interview question I’ve ever been asked is...
If you were a biscuit, what type of biscuit would you be?

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Smile pleasantly when people say your time will come because it will eventually. Also, ‘intern’ looks much better than having a gap in your CV.

1. What were your first impressions of us?
The first thing you see is the impressive office; the way that the office is set up makes it much easier to relax. The team are also really friendly and it is apparent that they want to do all they can to find you the right job. I could tell straight away that they were all very approachable and able to turn what could be a nervous affair into a conversation about what you are looking for. All in all the Graduate Recruitment Company were able to create the right environment.

2. How did we help you?
The Graduate Recruitment Company were great throughout the whole job hunting process. They helped me with both preparation for an interview, but also provided feedback after which was a great help in understanding where I could make improvements. They were also in constant communication with me and responded quickly to any issues or questions from my side. The Graduate Recruitment Company set me up with numerous interviews on a weekly basis and found me the opportunity I was looking for. What is also important to mention is the fact that generally the first stage of an interview takes the form of a group interview. Some recruitment companies have large numbers of candidates attend these group interviews, which is of no help to you at all and to be honest I have no idea how anyone stands out amongst the chaos. This was not the case at the Graduate Recruitment Company, the largest number in an interview I attended was 8. This was also a great help as it feels less of a competition and enables you to actually have your time to speak.

3. I wish I’d known when I graduated that....
It would be so difficult to get a foot in the door to start your career. It is so competitive, that you will take many knock backs before getting your break. I expected the process of finding a job to be a little easier.

4. The strangest interview question I’ve ever been asked is...
Not that this question is so much strange, but I did not expect it. During one of my interviews I was speaking to the Head of HR and he asked me out of the 10 people from the group interview this morning do you think I selected the correct 3 for second round interview? My thoughts were is he looking for me to validate his decision, or is he looking for me to question his decision and say that he made the wrong decision.

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Firstly be resilient and do not give up. It is very competitive with many graduates looking for a job. At the end of the day everyone you are up against has a degree or achieved something so it is important to stand out in other ways. The hiring process is generally long and costly for organisations so they do not want to have to do it often. What they are looking for is the right fit culturally and also someone who they see within the organisation in the long term. So it is important to differentiate yourself through your personality and the way you deliver your answers to questions. Also I would advise using all available connections, the more people you have on your side the quicker you should find that first job.

1. What were your first impressions of us?
Organised, friendly, eager to help and a great attention to detail. The offices were very welcoming and a lovely environment to visit.

2. How did we help you?
My consultant has been fantastic from the beginning right until the very end of my journey with the Graduate Recruitment Company. She was considerate, compassionate and very efficient. She helped me pinpoint exactly what sort of role I would be looking for and helped me rediscover my motivation to find my perfect role. Her dedication and time management allowed me to continue with my previous full time role whilst progressing with my search for my perfect job.  She was incredibly patient and understanding of my situation which often made it difficult for me to reply as quickly as I would have liked to. My initial meeting with my consultant was completed professionally. Whilst retaining a professional stance, she was friendly and welcoming which put me at ease. Her initial meeting process included questions which really helped to narrow down my interests and motivations and was the perfect opportunity to get to know one another.
As for the interview preparations, my consultant was brilliant at helping me prepare ahead of time and pin pointing exactly what an interviewer is looking for. She was excellent at helping me research the companies before the interview and preparing me for any unusual tasks or questions they may present me with. This all built up my confidence which most certainly shone through in my final interview!
My consultant has been fantastic with her flexibility and availability to maintain contact around my schedule and has ensured that I could contact her at any time with any questions or worries that I may have. Perhaps most importantly, she forced me to be honest with myself and helped me figure out what I really wanted. The consequences of that were to help me find my perfect role within a company I love, as opposed to taking on a position within a company I didn’t know anything about and wasn’t committed to.
My entire journey with the Graduate Recruitment Company has been incredible and I can’t recommend it enough.

3. I wish I’d known when I graduated that....
The more belief you have in yourself, the easier interviews become. My consultant has been incredible at maintaining my positivity when I was tempted to lose faith in myself and give up my job search. She really improved my confidence and I am so grateful for her continued support and understanding.

4. The strangest interview question I’ve ever been asked is...
To tell the interviewer something no one else in the world knows about me – I wasn’t sure whether or not to show them a locked journal and let them have a read!

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
To figure out exactly what your main aims and motivations are – that way you’ll find a job tailored to you that you will truly enjoy and have a passion for. And to also never give up. Unsuccessful interviews are a fantastic opportunity to gain feedback and are crucial to helping you identify any issues which can be easily solved with the help of the Graduate Recruitment Company.

Name: Sarrah

1. What were your first impressions of us?
My first impression of the Graduate Recruitment Company was that all the staff members were fully focussed on getting graduates into employment. Every meeting I attended I was greeted with beaming smiles, and the personal ‘one to ones’ were always full of comments of encouragement and optimism.

2. How did we help you?
The Graduate Recruitment Company kept me very busy, there was never a week where I was not out and about attending interviews for prospective jobs. They offered basic training tips and a general insight into the world of sales; which proved invaluable during the multiple interview stages.

3. I wish I’d known when I graduated that....
I wish I had known when I graduated that when it comes to the working world it’s less about the grade you get at university but more about your competence and likeability. That is not to say your grade is not important, it’s just that most graduates I competed with for jobs were well educated individuals boasting 1st's or 2:1’s and just as eager as I was for employment.  The key is to not be solely focussed on the grade you get from your degree but be all rounded as an individual.

4. The strangest interview question I’ve ever been asked is...
‘What can you do in the next 5 minutes to entertain us?’
Though the interviewers in this instance were kind enough not to go all the way with the question, it gave a new meaning to the phrase ‘expect the unexpected’ for me.

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Never leave a space blank on your CV! If you can’t find a job straight away, do something to fill up the time i.e. volunteering. This shows that you are proactive even when the chips are down.

1. What were your first impressions of us?
So friendly and easy to talk to, and seemed genuinely interested to know what I was looking for to make sure that the role would be a good fit with my experience and interests too.

2. How did we help you?
The Graduate Recruitment Company found me my first graduate job after a (very stressful!) year of searching!  I honestly thought that I would have to put up with a few years in an industry I wasn’t particularly passionate about to get some experience and after that be able to chose roles more specific to my interests, but this one suits me perfectly! You had faith in me and kept believing I could do it, and I did.

3. I wish I’d known when I graduated that....
Getting experience to support your degree is invaluable! And how difficult it actually is to get a job with graduate ones being so competitive and other jobs with no degree required not accepting you (many seem to assume that because you have a degree you’ll move on quickly and won’t stick at it!)

4. The strangest interview question I’ve ever been asked is...
On a night out with your friends who in your group would decide where to go…

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Don’t get disheartened by rejections!!

3. I wish I’d known when I graduated that....
This company existed before because I would have come here straight away.

4. The strangest interview question I’ve ever been asked is...
Not many weird ones have been asked but the weirdest would probably be “what superhero power would you possess and why?”

Name: Jasmine

1. What were your first impressions of us?
The whole team could not have been more friendly or proactive! I expected to walk in and be told to await to hear if they had anything for me, but I left with three interviews lined up! The atmosphere was completely relaxed and inviting, their offices are incredibly cool. I left with a good feeling that they would look after me - and they did!

2. How did we help you?
The Graduate Recruitment Company helped me an extraordinary amount. Not only did they explain in minute detail the roles I would be put forward for, they also rang me and kept me updated at every opportunity and were always there if I had any concerns or last minute questions. When I was put in a position having to choose between two jobs I wasn't sure how to handle it, but they were there to give me brilliant advice that really helped.

3. I wish I’d known when I graduated that....
I never went to uni! I worked straight from leaving school at 16 and had so many knock-backs from other recruitment companies. I knew I would do well in an interview, but no one would give me a chance to set me up with one! The Graduate Recruitment Company believed in me straight away and I never felt that I was a less desirable candidate, and with some help from them I landed my dream job!

4. The strangest interview question I’ve ever been asked is...
'Do you think drugs should be legalised?' That was a funny one. It's hard to know how passionate you should be about your opinion when you don't know where the interviewer stands!

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
It depends on how long you've been hunting. If it has been a while and you feel that you're not getting anywhere, change your expectations and work with your recruiters to see what you can benefit from changing (such as your interview technique or salary expectations). Every knock back is just an opportunity to learn something and improve, all though it doesn't feel like it at the time!

Walking out of the elevator, the first thing that struck me was the friendly environment in the office, immediately making you feel comfortable and relaxed. Then meeting with the consultants, they were quick to put you at ease and find out as much about you as possible, not just what you were looking for in terms of employment, but about your personality and hobbies as well, to make sure they really did find the best fit for you individually.

2. How did we help you?
Through a consultative approach, the Graduate Recruitment Company were able to find out which industry I wanted to work in, in comparison to my competencies before progressing me through to interviews.
The consultants were superb and would call me before the interview to check I was prepared and later follow up with a call to find out how the interview went. My consultant was friendly, kept me updated at every stage of the process and was always available to answer any questions that I had.

3. I wish I’d known when I graduated that....
The job market is hard at the moment- you don’t truly realise until you are in that situation. So making sure that your CV is able to grab the attention of potential employers is important, because that is your first impression and if that is not right you might not achieve the best results.

4. The strangest interview question I’ve ever been asked is...
If you were a biscuit, what type would you be?

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Research , research, research!
I can’t stress enough how important it is to make sure you know about the company you are interviewing with. Making sure you can tell them who their competitors are and about industry trends shows not only your ability to learn but your interest in their role.
This also helps with regards to thinking up questions to pose back to them.

1. What were your first impressions of us?
I first contacted the Graduate Recruitment Company in January, after spending over four months trying to find a job in my desired industry. My consultant was absolutely amazing, I could tell over the phone that she was truly keen in helping me out. I was invited to their offices to meet several members of the team to further discuss my professional interests.

2. How did we help you?
Shortly after meeting the Graduate Recruitment Company I had interviews lined up. I was truly impressed with their proactivity and professionalism in trying to find young graduates not just any position – but a role that truly matched each individual’s interests and capabilities! The preparation material given prior to the interviews and the telephone calls to check whether I was prepared kept me motivated to do my best. Furthermore, I always received calls from the consultants immediately after the interviews to ask me about how I had felt the interview had gone, and later I was also given feedback from the team on behalf of the interviewer, which enabled me to become increasingly prepared for future interviews to come.

3. What would you say to friends looking for a similar job?
The Graduate Recruitment Company were truly effective in finding me a job in a timely manner. All members of the team whom I had the opportunity to meet were visibly interested in helping me do my best in each scheduled interview. I sincerely recommend anyone who is seeking for a job to contact the Graduate Recruitment Company not solely because of the amazing employee professionalism but also due to the Company’s ties with top organisations in the country.

4. What else would you like to say?
I would like to thank the consultants for all their efforts and the tremendous dedication extended to me during the interview process.
I truly appreciate how welcoming the consultants were and for believing in me. During the previous three months I had been looking for a graduate job and I was becoming slightly worried about the competition in the market place, even for individuals who had done particularly well at University - however the consultants made me feel like I still had a chance!
Thank you  for insisting that I should attend my most recent interview, to which I ended up securing the job.
I was slightly hesitant to attend at first, as I already had an internship lined up, however, I truly thank the Graduate Recruitment Company for urging me to still go along, as I now have secured a full time position at a reputed organisation, and in a field that I am so excited to start exploring.
I wish the team all the best and will definitely be keeping in touch!

1. What were your first impressions of us?
I initially didn’t know what to expect when I was advised by a friend to use the Graduate Recruitment Company, however they were amazing. From the start, I was invited in and given a briefing on the opportunities that are there for me and within a few days I had my first interview. This then lead to me being contacted by another member of the team who got me an interview with another company,   which is something that I could only dream about. But here I am.

2. How did we help you?
The Graduate Recruitment Company were able to give me great advice on how to approach interviews, because I am still very young in that respect. I was able to talk to the consultants whenever I needed to, even when I was panicking - these last few days have been gruelling. I was able to take my mind off the situation when one of the consultants offered me another position that was available which I thought was great. The Grduate Recruitment Company have given me the confidence to excel in future interviews but also the ability for me to feel that “Yes I do deserve this”.
I think it’s great what they are doing; giving graduates the opportunity to break into the industry which is something that is difficult across all industries.

3. I wish I’d known when I graduated that....
There were companies like this which allows graduates to understand the opportunities out there. The industry is competitive, however if there are more companies like this, there are going to be opportunities for the best and determined graduates to succeed.

4. The strangest interview question I’ve ever been asked is...
What team do I support? A bit random, however it was a great ice breaker.

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Keep Looking! Never Give Up. With the right attitude, there are managers out there who seek individuals with determination and enthusiasm. My knowledge of the industry was very limited a year ago, however I have embraced this industry with a positive attitude. This is exactly what graduates have to show.

1. What were your first impressions of us?
I thought the offices were really luxurious and I wondered if I could get a job with your company in order to work in its great environment! The interview process felt more like a training programme and was not pressurised in any way - I felt very comfortable throughout. The sales training was very helpful and really clarified sales techniques for me.
Overall, everyone who dealt with me was really friendly and very honest about what would be expected of me.

2. How did we help you?
The thing that impressed me most about my experience with the Graduate Recruitment Company was the speed in which I was put forward for interviews and the high level of support throughout the process.
I really felt that each consultant was personally committing their full time and energy to getting me suitable interviews, even though they probably had many more candidates they were dealing with!
This was a really encouraging feeling and gave me the extra push I needed to really excel in the interview process as they believed in my abilities. Sometimes you need that extra bit of faith!
I also received personal consultations before each interview to ensure that I had prepared sufficiently, and to solve any confusions about the role and dispel pre-interview anxieties.

3. I wish I’d known when I graduated that....
I was going to get a fantastic job and not to worry.

1. What were your first impressions of us?
I was highly recommended by my previous employer to The Graduate Recruitment Company and on arrival they were very warm and friendly. 2. How did we help you?
Four different consultants helped me to get interviews at a number of places, all of which would have been great companies to work for. I was very impressed with the amount of advice I received, both before the interviews and when receiving feedback afterwards.

1. What were your first impressions of us?
My first impressions of The Graduate Recruitment Company were fantastic. Their staff were very friendly and extremely helpful which helped me to feel completely relaxed. The training they provided me with was of the highest quality and I left the offices comfortable and confident that I had the right skill set and knowledge to tackle any interview I faced.

2. How did we help you?
The Graduate Recruitment Company were the most helpful recruitment company I dealt with. They give you a great insight into what sales and recruitment is alla bout and they provide you with fantastic sales training which gave me confidence in my ability to sell. The staff gave their all in finding suitable interviews for me in sectors I was comfortable working in and with some of the biggest companies of their kind. Prior to the interviews, I always received a phone call with great advice on how to deal with the interview and what the employer was looking for which helped to ease my nerves. Post interview they were always on hand to give me feedback on how well I had done.

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...
There's no rush to get a job. I found that a lot of people panic and worry about not earning money and ultimately end up doing something they don't want to do. Take your time and find a job that you're comfortable with because for many it's their first taste of the working environment so I think it's important to do something you enjoy.

4. The strangest interview question I've ever been asked is...
Thankfully I didn't attend too many interviews before I found a job so all the questions I was asked were pretty similar and professional. I would say the strangest question was 'What is your biggest regret in life?'

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Simply never give up. With the current economic climate it's difficult finding a job and you just have to be patient. I would also say just to be yourself when being interviewed. You may have the correct skill set for the job but a lot of employers are big on personality and I think showing your true colours is the key to success.

2. How did we help you?
Before each interview I went to, the relevant consultant would call to give me advice and tell me what to expect. I always felt prepared and confident thanks to the advice and support of the consultants.

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...

4. The strangest interview question I've ever been asked is...
Tell me something odd about yourself.

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Get as much interview practise as you can, attend training days and always ask any questions you have even if they seem silly. Be confident and do your research, find a way to make your previous experience relevant to what the employer is looking for. Most importantly, don't lose hope. It can be disheartening when you interview for so many jobs and are unsuccessful but you cannot allow it to affect you because that could prevent you giving your best at your next interview.

4. The strangest interview question I've ever been asked is...
You need to cover the roof of every house in America with pizza boxes. Explain how you would work out the average number of pizza boxes to do this.

Keep an eye out for graduate opportunities on Twitter and LinkedIn. Completing internships in your area of choice is also a great way of networking and improving your employability. Don't get despondent, and as you gain more work experience more doors will open for you.

1. What were your first impressions of us?

2. How did we help you?
I was put forward for a number of roles that I was really interested in and also given the opportunity to attend more interviews.
All the recruiters I had contact with constantly gave me updates on suitable new jobs. They also gave me lots of advice prior to interview. This advice included a number of useful attachements sent over to help me prepare for each interview. All of the girls also called both before and after every interview to give last minute advice and to get feedback. Jenny even managed to negotiate a higher salary than the advertised package.

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...
Recruiters are the best way to get recognised by potential employers. Reputable recruiters like the Graduate Recruitment Company really add weight to your application and ensure that you stand out.

4. The strangest interview question I've ever been asked is...
What one creative thing have you done that has changed the world?

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Keep positive. Some interviews will go well and some won't. If you don't get on with an interviewer it is generally a good indication that you aren't a good fit for the company.
Be honest with recruiters about the roles you're interested in but don't write jobs off before going for an interview. Visiting a company's offices and meeting the employees is the best way to get a feel for the company and the job.

2. How did we help you?
I worked with two consultants closely, and had two interviews within a week. I was placed in an amazing company, one that was exactly the kind of role I was looking for. I had a job offer all within only two weeks of signing on with them. I can't recommend the girls at Graduate Recruitment highly enough - they are all so enthusiastic, kind and great to work with.

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...
That formalised graduate schemes weren't the only way into employment.

4. The strangest interview question I've ever been asked...
 'Where does your Dad live?'

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Don't panic, and keep pursuing something you want to do. There are so many positions out there, as well as loads of organisations and people, like everyone at The Graduate Recruitment Company, that are hugely instrumental in helping you achieve what you want.

Name: August

1. What were your first impressions of us?
Very friendly and welcoming first interview where everything was explained clearly and informatively about the company and its aims. I was greeted by two lovely girls who made the initial interview very comfortable and natural. The offices are very fast paced and there is an air of hard work and committment about the team.

2. How did we help you?
After the initial interview there was a briefing on sales and what to expect in a real job interview. This really helped me as I was new to sales, only having worked in a retail environment and my university course was drama! They also understood where I wanted to work and what would motivate me as an individual. They took my needs into account and found suitable job interviews within the next few days. When a job opportunity did come in the team would do everything they could to help me through every stage of an interview, from questions that could arise in the interview to techniques in role plays and pitches.

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...
You don't just fall straight into a job! I was interning before I contacted the Graduate Recruitment Company and although this was unpaid, I felt it gave me experience and increased my confidence and communication skills. Think about an action plan well before you've even reached your final year of university and always have plenty of back up plans! Looking back I wish I had taken the summer to do placements and short term internships that look impressive on a CV.

4. The strangest interview question you've ever been asked is...
'You have 60 seconds to say why you want this job... GO!' I hate being put on the spot and I always jumble up my words when I'm under pressures.

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?

1. What were your first impressions of us?

The team were straight off the bat extremely friendly and informative in all intial correspondence and contact, in addition to kicking off the recruitment process in a very proactive fashion. This was first noticed in specifically asking me to come into the office to meet and discuss in more detail how to move forward to ensure the best success in finding me a job that was in line with my requirements. I especially liked this process as it gave e a great opportunity to meet several of the taem who had potential roles available, granting the opportunity to discuss the roles and the suitability. A relationship could then develop with the team, which as a potential candidate is great as you feel they are really on your side in pursuing a successful end result - a job!

2. How did we help you?

The company aided my search in contacting me and when potential roles popped up that the team felt suited my credentials and future role spec. On being put forward for positions they were supportive throughout the interview process, offering help in the prep process if so needed. The team effectively found me a job after just 10 days of contacting them to help me in my search!

3. I wish I'd known before I graduated that...

The first job you have provides the groundwork for commercial experience, so think carefuly as to the industry you'd like to get into.

4. The strangest interview question I've ever been asked is...

If I was to speak to your boss, how do you think he would describe you?

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?

Ensure your CV and cover letter are a true reflection of your experience and educatino, are up to date and free from grammatical errors! Don't standardise cover letters as it's important that the first impression a company gets is one that the candidate has sufficiently researched the company and has a true interest in joining the firm.

If you're working whilst searching for new work utilise the help of recruitment agents as they play a pivotal role in helping to search through the clutter of positions available to find the roles that you're interested in when you do not necessarily have the time to trawl through the websites and job sites independently.

1. What were your first impressions of us?
The people I met at The Graduate Recruitment Company were very warm, welcoming and friendly. I was interviewed by several people, talked a lot about myself and what I was really looking for. It was very different from other companies because I really got the impression they were keen to help find the right job for me and not trying to give me any jobs they had available.

2. How did we help you?
The Graduate Recruitment Company listened to what career I actually wanted to pursue rather than encouraging me to attend interviews with companies I really wasn't interested in. They helped make sure I was as prepared as possible for my interview and genuinely cared about how I performed. They made it clear that all I had to do was call if I had any questions; they even called me before and after my assessment day.

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...
Recruitment companies are actually really helpful. If I'd known this I might not have spent so much time trawling job sites. I have found a job in one week.

4. The strangest interview question I've ever been asked is...
What animal am I?

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Don't ever give up. Stay positive and keep looking and you'll find the right job for you.

3. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Spend time tailoring your cover letter and CV to the position you are applying for. Ensure you show enthusiasm for the company and the role. Be confident and honest when meeting employers at interview, and be proactive!

Name: Tommie

1. What were your first impressions of us?
Vibrant and very friendly, each person I met was full of energy and offered plenty of help to any questions I had initially.

2. How did we help you?
Firstly by getting interviews that matched what I wanted. Not putting me forward for roles that I said would not have interested me so I knew that each role would be idea. Also making sure I had as many/few interviews as I wanted. Then they gave me constant advice on each stage of the interview so I had the best chance to prepare and do as well as possible. Feedback after each stage also helped in getting to further stages. The team were always a phone call away and didn't bombard me with messages as some agencies did. The team treated me with respect and honesty which encourages the companies they work with to do the same, making the interview to job offer process much easier and clearer.
The constant positive attitude of every member of staff was a welcome change to the agencies that just try and get as many interviews with as many ill fitting companies as possible, not caring about the response I gave to questions.
It was a very positive experience from start to finish - even if the whole experience only lasted a week!

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...
This agency existed! I have used many that weren't as good or friendly, and many that didn't listen, so it was a refreshing change.

4. The strangest interview question you've ever been asked is...
What animal is most like you and why? I decided on a siamese fighting fish, by the way!

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Don't be afraid to use agencies. They often have clients that would not advertise directly and the experience and number of jobs the Graduate Recruitment Company have is a definite advantage over trying to go alone.

They were very friendly and out of many agents that I've worked with during my job search they were by far the nicest and most informative in terms of feedback and advice. It was a great experience overall so thanks very much!

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...
A lot in the job interviews is about showing your personality. Your qualifications and job experiences play an important role but it also comes down to how you can fit in with a company.

4. The strangest interview question I've ever been asked is...
What sort of animal do I think I am.

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Don't take job rejections personally, make as many professional connections as possible as you never know who might be able to help you in the future, and keep faith and believe in yourself that you will land the job you want.

Really positive. I had a phone call from one of the recruitment consultants who was really friendly and really helpful. She gave me some really useful advice and invited me to come to the London office.

2. How did we help you?
I attended an assessment afternoon at the London office which was really useful. We were also given some training which was fantastic as I was able to use the information given in the interviews that I later attended. After this I was given feedback with advice on what to do in interview situations and things to be aware of. Straight away the company set up some interviews with some companies. Name: Alice

1. What were your first impressions of us?
I had heard about The Graduate Recruitment Company through my sister and from the first email they were incredibly helpful and organised. Everyone I spoke to was really friendly and welcoming. I really liked the feel of the offices too, the whole layout makes you feel at ease.

2. How did we help you?
I came to London with no job and within three weeks the Graduate Recruitment Company put me through four sets of interviews for jobs I was both interested in and suitable for. All the team members that I spoke to gave me really useful advice and tips on how to get the best out of myself on an interview day. I didn't think I would be offered a job this quickly and now I'm looking forward to my new career in the digital industry starting next week.

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...
I had the skills to start a career in sales and marketing. It wasn't an area I knew much about but now it's where I see my career going for the forseeable future.

4. The strangest interview question I've ever been asked is...
How many basketballs could you fit in this room?

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Just have faith in yourself that you are just as good as the rest of the candidates. It's easy to get overwhelmed by the amount of people going for the same positions as you. You have to know deep down that you will be the right fit somewhere - it's just a case of finding that company. The Graduate Recruitment Company have been such a massive help for me in terms of building my confidence about getting a job in a new sector and giving me the skills I need for the gruelling interview stages. Name: David

1. What were your first impressions of us?
Exiting the elevator, I thought what a busy agency it was. I saw this as a positive, referring to loads of jobs coming through which need to be filled. So that excited me and confirmed that I was in the right place.

2. How did we help you?
The initial consultations with Jenny and Lucy were very assuring and comforting that there is a business out there that would be willing to hire me, having noticed my temp job infested inconsistent CV. They both presented me with fantastic opportunities with incredible companies which I tried my best in the interviews but did not progress to the next stage.
Then Brian from the temp team gave me a ring with a temporary role so I could earn some money while I continued my search for a full time position. Fortunately it was with RIPA International, part of Capita, a large FTSE 100 company based in their lovely Holborn offices. I worked tirelessly and ever so hard on an international market assignment to prove myself. Then the two weeks temp contract ended and a week later I received an email from Jenny saying the sales director I was reporting to had recommended me for an interview with the overall sales director for a full time position.
From the two weeks of experience I knew whole heartedly that I wanted to continue working there and this passion and desire came across in the interview. Half an hour after this meeting Jenny called me for feedback. Little was I aware that was a disguise to add dramatics to a shocking twist. She had already received an offer for me from Capita, which I was delighted to accept, with a salary above my expectations.

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...Temporary contracts should not be taken lightly and most come with a permanant possibility, provided that one proves oneself.

4. The strangest interview question I've ever been asked is... What is your favourite movie?

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Do not underestimate temporary contracts - take them as a first step and have a goal in mind to become full time within five months.

Name: Enrique

1. What were your first impressions of us?
The Graduate Recruitment Company invited me in to speak to a number of consultants who worked in different areas and all of them took the time to get to know me and understand what I was looking for in my career. I can honestly say that I was impressed by their professionalism and enthusiasm for the candidates - they all came across as extremely passionate and committed and they really gave me the impression that they were going to work hard to help find me the right job.

2. How did we help you?
After sending my CV to the Graduate Recruitment Company I received in a matter of hours an encouraging phone call from one of the consultants that eventually led to a face to face interview with them. In a short time, they set me up for an interview process with an incredible company in which the team supported me a lot. In less than a week I had a job offer on the table! I can't thank the team that I worked with enough - they simply knew which job vacancy suited me the best.

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...
Signing up with the Graduate Recruitment Company was the best option to find the right job. It is incredible how easy it seems to be when you have such a talented and committed staff helping you since the first day.

4. The strangest interview question I've ever been asked is...
Three objects that best describe yourself?

5. Whad advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Send your CV to the Graduate Recruitment Company. I am writing this after my first day in my new job!

Name: Kevin

1. What were your first impressions of us?
Everyone I met at the Graduate Recruitment Company waas friendly, welcoming and most importantly positive! Immediately I felt like the trip down to see them was going to be worthwhile and would make a difference to my job search.

2. How did we help you?
Where do I even start with this question!? Firstly, the way that the Graduate Recruitment Company do things really makes you feel like you've maximised your time. Obviously they're keen to understand your background, but also they're straight with you about what opportunities they've got available at the moment and if they feel you'd be right for them. This process was so efficient that within 48 hours of meeting them I had already completed three first interviews! I was extremely impressed with the speed in which they were able to act and how quickly I received feedback on my performance at interview. This is testament to the strong relationships they have with their clients. Ultimately, in just over a week after meeting them I was sitting on two job offers and planning my move down to London - an incredible turnaround in such a short space of time. I cannot praise the team there highly enough.

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...
My skills are more transferable than I thought they were. Never let your knowledge or background dictate what sort of career you think you can do. If you have a particularly strong interest in something you should always follow that. Companies are basing their decisions on personality rather than technical expertise more often than you think.

4. The strangest interview question I've ever been asked is...
What's 81 x 5? While I was midway through giving another answer! Luckily I got the question right despite being put on the spot, if I didn't I'm not sure if I'd have been offered the job!

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Make sure you are keeping yourself busy. Looking for your first job in this climate can be a long and arduous process so it's important you have other things to focus on, both for your own satisfaction and your CV. Volunteering, part time work and shadowing and industry professional are great ways to improve your CV whilst being unemployed. The other thing I would say is get looking through a recruitment agency! Companies like The Graduate Recruitment Company give you great access to a wealth of opportunities you may not even have considered, most of which will not even be advertised on the internet.

Name: Ian

1. What were your first impressions of us?
Very friendly and approachable. Such a fast response and personable service.

2. How did we help you?
The team found me a position at one of the world's top media agencies with an analysis role. They were able to give me a telephone interview very quickly and then a face to face the next day. An incredible turnaround. I knew that the team were supporting me all the way with the feedback and updates after every contact with the media agency.

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...
There were so many jobs for me in fields that I enjoy. Get out and do research!

4. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Keep going! Don't feel a need to lower your standards too quickly. If you're getting interviews then it's all about your technique and style. Try a mix of agencies and online applications (I got rejected by almost all online application systems). Don't specifically look for graduate schemes as many jobs provide graduate related training and internal promotion anyway.

Name: Fi

1. What were your first impressions of us?
From the outset the Graduate Recruitment Company and their team have been professional, helpful and engaging whilst facing one of the toughest challenges, finding a job after graduating university! The opportunities they had to offer were fantastic and they worked closely with me to find companies that I was truly passionate about.

2. How did we help you?
The Graduate Recruitment Company went above and beyond any other recruitment agency I have worked with, and the turnaround period to obtain interviews was insanely quick. The team has been in touch every day of the week - no question or query was too small and they went above and beyond to ensure I was confident in the roles I was put forward for. I cannot thank the team or the consultant that I worked with enough - I can now say that I have my dream job after five working days with them and two weeks after leaving university.

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...
I wish I'd known from the outset that The Graduate Recruitment Company existed. It took just over a week to get a call from the team, but I have never looked back since!

4. The strangest interview question I've ever been asked is...
I have to admit there have been a few, but it wasn't the question asked, it was the response from the guy sitting next to me. Standard question about a quirky feature: his response was in regard to finding grey hairs at the end of university, and being nicknamed the silver fox.

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
I would say don't give up, be confident in your ability and work with the Graduate Recruitment Company, they honestly go above and beyond any of the other recruitment agencies. Get out there and get experience, build on your knowledge of the company and essentially go for it.

Name: Elrike

1. What were your first impressions of us?
When I got the call from The Graduate Recruitment Company, I was recently made redundant so I was pretty down. But after the phone call I felt again like there is hope to find me a new role within no time.

2. How did we help you?
The Graduate Recruitment Company asked me to come in to their offices for a personal talk about my opportunities. I liked the idea that they were actually interested in me personally, to find a job that matches my personality and not just my skills. Then they forwarded my details to a company and from there it was almost no time until I got a new job. During the interview process the team supported me and helped me a lot. They listened to my questions and helped me prepare for the interviews as much as possible. They stood by my side the whole time.

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...
When one door closes another one opens.

4. The strangest interview question I've ever been asked is...
If you could choose between three people to have dinner with tonight, who would that be?

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Never give up. Even if it seems hopeless one day there will be a chance to shine!

Name: Jennifer

1. What were your first impressions of us?
Started with a friendly telephone call and led on to an interview in the lovely office. My consultant made me feel really relaxed and really listened to what I was saying, filled me in on the role quickly but efficiently and kept in regular contact after my application was passed on to the company I was applying for.

2. How did we help you?
I didn’t expect to hear back so soon, I applied for the job advertised, received a phone-call from my consultant, met her for an interview the next day and within two days she had organised an interview for me with the company! Everything moved so quickly but I was so impressed with the efficiency and professionalism I received from the Graduate Recruitment Company. My consultant went out of her way to prep me before my interview, offering useful tips and even calling me after the interview to see how it went (lovely!) She was also available to contact my phone/email and responded promptly to any queries I had and soon fed back to me, organising a second interview and encouraging me to be myself, be confident and go for it! I really think the friendly and supportive attitude my consultant possessed played a large factor in my interview success - the Graduate Recruitment Company do what other agencies I’ve been in contact with don’t - they go the extra mile for us confused graduates! Without the input, contact and updates from my consultant, I’d definitely have been more nervous, harbouring doubts and fears. Instead I was able to talk through my worries, ask for advice and obtain valuable feedback from the agency. A first class service I would happily pay for (but it’s free which makes it even more amazing!)

3. I wish I’d known when I graduated that....
Having a degree does NOT guarantee you a fast track into a career! Obtaining a degree is a challenge, but applying for jobs and attempting to get your foot on the career ladder is just as difficult and testing. I’m thankful for the university experience, however I think I underestimated how big and scary the real world is and that it isn’t always enough to have a degree - one must also have confidence, courage and my consultant Clare (haha).

4. The strangest interview question I’ve ever been asked is...
Not really strange but I’ve been asked a few times what my biggest weakness is. This is a really difficult question as you obviously don’t want to make yourself sound completely unemployable but you have to come up with something. It’s hard to find an answer to that question as your response to this is crucial, you don’t want to make yourself look bad however if you don’t answer it you make yourself appear arrogant or run the risk of the interviewer thinking you are too confident.

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
I know this sounds cheesier than a topping from Pizza Hut, but don’t give up. It took me 12 months to find a role and start work in an environment that allows me to use my degree. I got rejected so many times that I felt really low and began to doubt myself and my dreams. There is a role out there for you, you just have to be persistent. Apply for jobs every day, sign up to agencies like the Graduate Recruitment Company, follow people within the field you want to break into on Twitter, do an internship if you can. Companies always want people with experience, so even if you have to work for free for a bit, think of the skills you will learn and how good your CV will look!

Name: Anouska

1. What were your first impressions of us?
Excellent and personable service, with real attention to to getting to know the individual for who they are and evaluate their strengths from the outset, as opposed to other more corporate recruitment companies. The Graduate Recruitment Company's staff are very personable from the start, making the whole job search process far easier and less stressful.

2. How did we help you?
My consultant at the Graduate Recruitment Company was excellent! Having submitted my CV for an administrative role, she recognised my experiences and skill set and contacted me with a completely different role which I hadn't considered before in the area of advertising, yet the role was in fact far better suited to my skill set than anything I had previously applied for. I was guided through every step of the process, with pre interview pep talks and advice on interview preparation techniques and excellent feedback updates at each selection stage. The service was far more personable and candidate focussed than any other I have experienced and I would highly recommend the company to any graduate.

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...
Summer placements and internships give new graduates a real advantage, having gained experience in their desired sector. I went through university unaware of the significance of such positions and in hindsight I wish I had been more aware of this.

4. The strangest interview question I've ever been asked is...
None - I've only been asked very standard straightforward questions, despite attending a wealth of interviews!

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Don't give up! In today's climate competition is SO tough for graduates, and I soon came to realise that a top undergraduate and even a postgraduate degree will not win you the job over an older candidate with more practical experience, But keep persevering, and be open to new career paths where you can develop your skill set.

Name: Jason

1. What were your first impressions of us?
I thought it was a very modern place, very busy, very sleek, and seemed like an awesome place to work.

2. How did we help you?
You contacted me after I applied for a role, and no less than four consultants sat with me to hash out what I was going to go for and each of them with fantastic roles they were eager to put me forward for.
Within the first week the team had gotten me multiple interviews with some giant names in the business world, and in just one week I had gone through the entire process, securing a great position at an awesome company that I just can't wait to start at.

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...
There were awesome places that cared about the candidates as much as the commission, and actually meant it.

4. The strangest interview question I've ever been asked is...
Q: How do you know when you're doing most of the listening?
A: When the other person is doing most of the talking.

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Keep an open mind to what you want to do, as your degree doesn't necessarily determine your career. At this early time in your career, you want experience, but you also want a place you can enjoy going to, so make sure your new place has both.
Don't be afraid to ask for advice; we all have things that we can do better than everyone else, and we all have things that we're hopeless at.
Don't get down if things don't go your way if you don't get the job you wanted. There is a job that's perfect for everyone, so keep looking, and if you fall along the way, pick yourself back up and go for it. Nothing worth having ever comes easily. There is nothing that is inaccessible to you if you're prepared to follow the path to it.

Name: Dominic

1. What were your first impressions of us?
The first thing you notice as you walk in the door is how professionalism and friendliness can work together hand in hand.

2. How did we help you?
I cam down after a very disappointing experience with another company. My consultant assured me that I would have a much more positive experience with the Graduate Recruitment Company and this was certainly the case. In the space of only one week I went from the introduction interview to accepting one of two offers. They were quick at organising interviews and calling with feedback. They were open and always helpful and able to answer any questions before going in for the interviews.

3. I wish I'd known sooner that...
The Graduate Recruitment Company would be so helpful - if I had known I would have come to them first and ignored all other agencies.

4. The strangest interview question I've ever been asked is...
Do you prefer the weather being too hot or too cold?

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Don't bother with other agencies which are far too focussed on making themselves money - the Graduate Recruitment Company is far more helpful as they will work a a team to find you the best opportunities. Be yourself and be honest.

2. How did we help you?
I was really impressed with their support and how they were able to accommodate my difficult working hours. Nothing was too much trouble and any apprehensions I may have had were put to rest as soon as I spoke with/met the team. Any questions I had were comprehensively answered and I was guided the whole way.

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...
There would be so many opportunities out there. If you are willing to look and work hard then the options are endless particularly with the support of the Graduate Recruitment Company.

4. The strangest interview question I've ever been asked is...
Imagine you're doing your video interview for Big Brother, what would you do/say? (The job I was applying for had nothing to do with Big Brother)

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Keep going, be yourself and you will find the job that is right for you.

Name: Shobnom

1. What were your first impressions of us?
Everyone was really friendly on a professional and personal level. They understood my needs straight away!

2. How did we help you?
The whole team were fantastic. After seeing me they had arranged interviews for me by the next day and everything moved so fast compared to a couple of other agencies I'd been to see. They also prepped me for the interviews and gave me so many helpful tips which helped with my research and the interview itself. I could not have asked for better consultants along the way and now I've been offered an amazing job which I never would have got without their help!

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...
The Graduate Recruitment Company existed as I probably could have been in my dream job years ago! Although I am very happy with the outcome now - everything happens for a reason!

4. The strangest interview question I've ever been asked is...
If we were to build a tennis court in our premises where would you start and what would you do.

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Do your best in everything you try along the way as it all counts! Remember to sell yourself as to why YOU should be hired and what you can offer. Try things out of your comfort zone as you never know how far you can go until you try.

Name: Alice

1. What were your first impressions of us?
My first impression was very good. As a recruiter myself I know how important it is that a candidate feels they can be themselves in the presence of their recruiter and all three of the girls I was in contact with made me feel totally at ease. I was asked to attend a short meeting at their offices in London and upon meeting the girls I knew I was in good hands! Their professionalism as well as enthusiasm for the clients they work with was really refreshing and they gave me the impression that they were really going to work hard on my behalf to help me find the right job.

2. How did we help you?
Within a few days I was called by several of the consultants I had met with very relevant roles that suited the requirements I had outlined for my next career move. They were efficient and knowledgeable about the companies that they were representing and they helped me prepare for interviews.

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...
I had known about the Graduate Recruitment Company so that I could have come straight to the offices!

4. The strangest interview question I've ever been asked is...
If you were a cocktail, what flavour would you be and why?

Give the Graduate Recruitment Company a call, arrange a meeting and be as honest as possible about what you want out of your first job. These guys know what they're doing and have great relationships with their clients so you will end up with a very well suited role.

Name: William

1. What were your first impressions of us?
Friendly and bubbly with a keen eye on getting the best out of candidates.

2. How did we help you?
My consultant helped me focus on all that was most important to my interviews by giving me homework on the company and the position. The team at the Graduate Recruitment Company were very efficient as I felt they wasted no amount of time finding roles that best matched my preferences. They also provided me with immediate feedback on interviews which helped me capitalise on my strengths. Finally, my consultant's wholehearted approach, enthusiasm and support made me feel I had a friend at hand as well though she remained very professional throughout.

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...
A little effort could go such a long way - it's just a question of knowing where to apply it. Finding the right job is not as hectic as many make it out to be if you go to the right recruitment agency. I could not have asked for more from the Graduate Recruitment Company.

4. The strangest interview question I've ever been asked is...
How many pints do you think were consumed in London last week?

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
It helps to remember that failure at interviews is rewarded with experience. I would advise those looking for work to speak to professionals working within their field of interest to get first hand opinions and gain knowledge about the job they are applying for. In my experience also, it's really important to keep the ball rolling as well by applying for positions that could lead to positive outcomes in the medium term and the short term.

1. What were your first impressions of us?
My first impressions were that of a very friendly and approachable organisation. The atmosphere was laid back, but at the same time, what I wanted was paid attention to. As soon as I had my first conversation, the cogs started turning and there was movement on their side almost immediately. Unlike other recruiters, they seemed very proactive rather than reactive and it felt like my best interests were being catered for. Nice offices too!

2. How did we help you?
I was given guidance in terms of what I could expect realistically given my experience, and we discussed what sort of change I was looking for. I was already employed at the time and everyone was very flexible in working around my schedule. Having listened to exactly what I wanted, I was being informed of possible opportunities as soon as they arose and had interviews set up after just a few days. Any questions I had were answered, not only quickly, but in good detail too.
I wasn't forced into going forward for any job that I wasn't keen on, and when I chose one I really wanted, I was given full support to get it. During the (very) long interview process, everyting was handled very quickly and I was rarely left waiting for decisions. They took time out to answer emails outside of office hours, and I felt they were doing everything they could to help. Everything's been taken care of from beginning to end. I've now got an awesome new job that genuinely excites me, which I can only thank the Graduate Recruitment Company for.

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...
There are sales jobs, and then there are sales jobs! I wish I'd known that with a bit of patience, the right role would eventually come along.

4. The strangest interview question I've ever been asked is...
Ah! It was in a group interview with four others. The premise was that we were all in a hot air balloon that was falling, and someone had to be thrown out for the rest to survive. The question was 'You are Arnold Schwarzenegger, why should you survive?'. Believe it or not I actually won! I was also asked 'Your CV says you have a good sense of humour. Prove it'. Tecnhically not a question, but it still shows you should always be on your toes and have your wits about you. They'll always try to catch you off guard. These are the times that you can show them how amazing your personality is.

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
I woudl say that the most important thing to do is treat a job search as a full time job itself. If you invest your time and effort into it, you'll reap the rewards. Aside from that, don't rush into a job that you're unsure of. When it is the right job for you, as cliched as it may sound, you will know. If it's something you're passionate about, you'll have no problems impressing anyone!

Name: Anja

1. What were your first impressions of us?
My first calls with my consultant and my first visit gave me the impression that they work very professionally. I was already in touch with other agencies and some of them left me with a bad opinion of recruitment agencies in general - but I was about to be proven wrong.

2. How did we help you?
By inviting me in for an assessment centre where people with a second language were required. My consultant was convinced that it was the right role for me where my languages were key, and she was right. She helped me through all of the stages - from the initial invitation, over support for my preparations and making sure my first day went well and that everything was alright.

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...
It's not that easy to find the right role and that being open to new opportunities and roles that you haven't considered before is very important.

4. What advice would you give graduates still hunting for their first job?
By quoting Steve Jobs 'Stay hungry - stay foolish.' You can only connect the dots backwards; not forwards. So guys, never give up. There's the right role for all of you, it only might take some time to find it.

Name: James

1. What were your first impressions of us?
I was made very welcome and felt very relaxed when I arrived at the office. We saw three people during the two or so hours we were there and they were all happy people who obviously enjoy their work and that reflects on you.

2. How did we help you?
You managed to get me an interview the day after I came and saw you. You then followed that up with another two interviews after that weekend had passed. Including second interviews I had interviews on Friday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I was then offered the job on the final interview and couldn't be happier right now! Everyone from start to finish had guided me and Jenny even gave us sales training to refresh my mind on things.

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...
Actually I'm not a graduate but this just shows that the Graduate Recruitment Company can help you even if you don't have a degree. I'm proof of the pudding! If I were a grad then I would probably say why were we not introduced to a company like the Graduate Recruitment Company when we were at university!

4. The strangest interview question I've ever been asked is...
Are you street smart or academic smart? Not an expected question but just be truthful about it. I'm not academic and that's why I never went to university but I've used my own skills and experience to be able to get this job.

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Stick at it! The first interview I went to through the Graduate Recruitment Company, I really wanted it. I got through to a third stage interview and was then told that this maybe wasn't for me. I was pretty devastated as I wanted that job so much but then it turned out that an even better job came along and I got it! Don't give up. Also I would recommend that if you do have any questions or want guidance or advice on anything you are unsure about (work related!) I would call the Graduate Recruitment Company. They are so friendly and welcoming, I couldn't be happier with the service I received.

Highly recommended!

Very nice office. I met my lovely consultant Claudia, we talked about my experience and she gave me lots of good tips on the interview process. She kept encouraging me and providing excellent support during the whole recruiting process. Thank you so much Claudia!

I found a job perfectly matching my experience and expectations within two weeks. I am so happy!

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...
it is more about your personal qualities, communication skills and ability to present yourself well rather than getting high grades on the essays (although high grades are also important).

4. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
See which experience you have and which jobs you'd be capable of doing - as employers first of all check how well you match their job requirements. Also be yourself, be positive and smile!

Name: Emma

1. What were your first impressions of us?
I came across the Graduate Recruitment Company doing a random search on Reed, and so grateful that I signed up with them. From submitting my CV online, I was contacted about 30 minutes later and went to meet the team the very next day. The team was absolutely lovely. They made me feel so at ease and didn't judge me that the concept of digital media was new to me.

2. How did we help you?
Ultimately you helped me get a new job and a new career in the matter of four days! Amazing! I signed up to the agency on Monday, registered and met the team on Tuesday, had an interview on Thursday and by 3pm on Thursday I was employed. Such a quick turnaround. From the moment I met the team I knew they were going to help me.

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...
Just because you did a certain degree, that you aren't restricted to certain jobs. I graduated in maths and tried to pursue a career in banking but it wasn't for me. Thankfully I stumbled across the Graduate Recruitment Company and they made me open my eyes to a completely different career path I thought I'd never be able to do.

4. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Stay positive, be 100% yourself and think outside the box. Don't let your degree choice hold you back, remember the skills you've learnt and the aspects of your degree you enjoyed the most and find a job/career that utilises them.

1. What were your first impressions of us?
I had a great first impression of the Graduate Recruitment Company. It is a very friendly environment, with great people who are eager to help you. The people are very down to earth and welcome you into a modern, relaxing environment during the interview process.

2. How did we help you?
The Graduate Recruitment Company provided me with some basica sales training that I found essential for all my following interviews that were set up for me. I was given experience in group interviews and excellent one on one mentoring with several consultants. In terms of searching for jobs, the Graduate Recruitment Company provided me with a fantastic selection of interviews that were perfectly suited to my interests and experience level. Once I began my interview process I felt comfortable to contact any one of the consultants working with me for advice and last minute preparation. The consultants also follow up with you after each interview stage to discuss feedback and where your next best move may be.

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...
There was a service as good as the Graduate Recruitment Company on offer. The daunting task of finding a graduate position, in a top London company, was made so much easier through the expert assistance and friendly consultants at the Graduate Recruitment Company.

4. The strangest interview question I've ever been asked is...
If your friends could describe your three worst qualities what would they be and what is the most embarrassing thing they would say you have ever done?

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Definitely go and pay the Graduate Recruitment Company a visit. They provide you with a great service from your initial contact with them and they look after you throughout your process as well as making sure you are comfortable in your new job. I was contacted by over eight different recruitment agencies, but once I made contact with the Graduate Recruitment Company I didn't need to look anywhere else.

Name: Oliver

1. What were your first impressions of us?
My consultant was very friendly and welcoming and made us feel at home. I felt instantly relaxed and like I was in the right place.

2. How did we help you?
Offered helpful sales training and advice. Discussed positions that I would be interested in as opposed to trying to force roles upon candidates. They were continually in contact with me to discuss new roles. They offered help and advice over the phone with regards to conducting a successful interview.

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...
Although there are a vast numbers of recruitment agencies in the market, most do not care about their candidates or clients and are just desperate to match anyone to anything regardless of their specific needs, and thus are a waste of time dealing with. I wish I was aware of who the quality recruitment agencies were to start with.

4. The stranges interview question I've ever been asked is...
If we had to let you go after your probationary period, what would be the reason? Worst case scenario and I want an actual reason.

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Do not give up and get yourself down if you keep getting rejected as finding a job isn't supposed to be easy and with interview after interview comes practice and experience gained and lessons learnt.

Name: Sarah

1. What were your first impressions of us?
Excellent - the Graduate Recruitment Company worked around me and my consultant was able to meet me before work at a convenient location for me as I was employed at the time. This flexibility really helped me out. Meeting my consultant was extremely useful and it was great to talk through what I wanted quite informally.

2. How did we help you?
Within a few hours of meeting my consultant a job role suiting my skills and requirements was sent over to me.. I was then invited for an interview a few days later, whilst being supported by the Graduate Recruitment Company every step of the way. I was fully briefed before each interview (there were two stages) and I was in constant contact with the consultants. I really felt they understood me and my needs, making it easy to contact them as I was at work during my job hunt. Working with the Graduate Recruitment Company made me feel a lot more positive having that support network there, and I would definitely recommend them.

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...
That The Graduate Recruitment Company existed! I made a lot of applications while in my final year but found it difficult to find a suitable role - the Graduate Recruitment Company could have taken away this pain.

4. The strangest interview question I've ever been asked is...
At the start of the interview - describe yourself in three words. At the end of the interview - can you remember the three words you used at the beginning? Hard to remember after being grilled for an hour!

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Make sure your CV displays your achievements, not just your skills. Always tailor your CV for each job - it might sound time consuming but will pay off in the long run. Especially if you are applying for your perfect job.

Name: Dan

Listened fully to my aspirations and were able to pinpoint not only the type of role I'd be suited to, but also what type of company they felt I'd feel most suitable in, which made my job search more focussed and saved the hassle of wasting my time in interviews for jobs I wouldn't want.
They found me interviews extremely quickly and kept in good contact every step of the way through the process, whilst keeping me up to date with other roles that were available.

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...
That as far as getting a job goes, having a degree in X, Y or Z will only get your feet in the door. There is still a lot of work to be done to get that first role!

4. The strangest interview question I've ever been asked is..
When did you last feel ashamed?

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Finding the right role is more important than finding any role. It doesn't matter how long it takes to find the right job. In 5 years you won't remember if it took you 5 days or 5 months to find your first job, but if it's the right role, you'll always be glad you waited.

Very professional, friendly and supportive. And they didn't bombard me with paperwork!

2. How did we help you?
One of the finest aspects of the staff at the Graduate Recruitment Company is that they didn't try to force jobs that I wouldn't like on to me. They also helped me with interview techniques and had great advice for any questions that I had.

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Don't give up if you don't succeed at first. There are plenty of opportunities out there and one companie's loss is another one's gain.

Name: Biba

1. What were your first impressions of us?
Very approachable. During the initial recruitment interview, my consultant made a great connetion between my personality, passion and interest with a currently available role. I am delighted to have now secured this role and incredibly excited about this new digital media realm which I didn't initially have in mind.

2. How did we help you?
Throughout the entire process. From the initial informal interview in giving job/industry ideas which helped me realise what I actually wanted to do, to research tips and advice on how best to succeed in the interview. Follow up and feedback was quicker than I could have hoped for, which alleviated any apprehension and was always thorough. There was constant support throughout the process as my consultant made sure she was available to contact with any questions prior to interviews. It was a pleasure dealing with my consultant and the Graduate Recruitment Company; they have great prospects and even better staff who are eager to help you every step of the way.

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...
There are so many opportunities out there. There is nothing pushing you towards the same roles your course friends are choosing. Recruitment agencies offer a different route to graduate programmes, especially if you have 1-2 years of experience and don't want to go down that route. They come up with new and interesting roles every day, which you otherwise may not know about.

4. The strangest interview question I've ever been asked is...
From abstract questions like 'How many 6' by 4' flags do you think hang at any one time in the USA? To unexpected questions like 'What's your favourite product? Would you consider working for them?'

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Expect some knocks but don't let that get you down. Try and keep the momentum going, the more driven and open you are, the more opportunities will crop up. Some of which you may not have even considered that could be a better personality/interest fit.

First job-wise, it's about the experience. All experience is good, even if you realise that actually you're going to have to completely rethink your career. Knowing that you don't want to do something is just as important.

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
The best thing I ever did was reinforce my belief in myself in times of rejection. A negative self image is apparent in an interview situation so resilience is key when facing your next interview post rejection.

2. How did we help you?
My consultant was always very helpful and remembered about me. It took me a while to find a job I would like, however for all of that time she was calling me suggesting various job types that were suitable for my skill set. All the conversations we had also helped direct me in the right direction of a job I would enjoy doing. And in the end, of course, I found a job thanks to the company.

It might take a while to find a job that you really enjoy.

What would you do if you owned a large field area on the moon>

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?

Name: Mark

1. What were your first impressions of us?
Upon applying for a position, I quickly received communication back from an extremely helpful member of the Graduate Recruitment Company team who was more than happy to help me in any way possible. First impressions were certainly very positive with me feeling that I had finally found a recruitment company who took a personal interest in matching a position to my skill set, and who wanted to help me every step of the way. Unlike my experiences with other recruitment companies, I didn't feel like I was being put forward for positions just for the sake of increasing my odds of securing a position. The highly professional and very approachable consultant took her time in assisting me in every way she could.

2. How did we help you?
Where other recruitment companies have failed, the Graduate Recruitment Company succeeded in matching the perfect role to my skills and experience. Interviews were arranged around my travel schedule which I'm sure was a bit of a nuisance and a headache for the consultant given the fact that I had to travel back to Northern Ireland. The advice offered for the interviews and the personal touch of providing directions and help proved to be invaluable given the fact that I don't really know my way around London. I'm really glad to say that my search for the perfect role has now ended thanks to the Graduate Recruitment Company. I will be recommending any graduates I know to consider them for their job searches - I just wish I knew about you sooner.

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...
I really wish I knew that working with a recruitment comapny such as this to find a position was the best option! I spent countless hours applying for roles directly and made little to no progress. The resources offered by Graduate Recruitment Company and the expertise of its excellent consultants resulted in me gaining a new role within a couple of weeks of contacting them. If only I had known about them much sooner!

4. The strangest interview question I've ever been asked is...
I was once asked in an interview about what breed of dog I had. I'm really not sure what the interviewer was trying to establish with that question...

The quality of your CV is extremely important. I've had to make countless alterations to mine to gain any form of response from companies. I would also suggest utilising a recruitment company such as the Graduate Recruitment Company to make the job application process much easier. Their expertise, professionalism and large number of contacts with companies helps to make the job hunting process much easier. I would also suggest that you don't give up hope! It can be extremely difficult to secure your first job but as long as you keep trying and remain optimistic, it will happen.

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...
I wish I'd known how much more difficult my job search would be having not applied to any graduate schemes.

4. The strangest interview question I've ever been asked is...
What is your current Facebook status?

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Be confident, I would say that's the most important thing to remember. You can have all the qualifications in the world from a top university but if you appear too nervous and shy it will be incredibly difficult to succeed in interviews. Employers are looking for people that are confident, friendly and good at communicating with others and presenting their ideas. This took me a while to master but once I developed confidence in myself I was successful in my job search almost immediately.

1. What were your first impressions of us?
Very approachable, very helpful and very realistic.

2. How did we help you?
I had a group interview with the Graduate Recruitment Company on a Thursday, the following Monday I met a consultant for a job interview preparation session, I had the interview on the Tuesday and signed on the dotted line the same day. In a group interview situation 'Of your competitors, who do you see as the greatest threat and why?'

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
If you send someone an email, call them to follow up. As Lady Gaga says in Paparazzi, 'I'm your biggest fan I'll follow you until you love me' - you need to be every recruiter's biggest fan. Don't be afraid of cold calling recruiters, set your sights on suitable roles and make a lasting impression.

No matter how many times a day I called her (and it was a lot!) she always seemed genuinely pleased to talk with me and help me. She listened to my ambitions and goals carefully and put me forward for roles accordingly. I cannot speak highly enough of the whole team at the Graduate Recruitment Company. They go above and beyond the level of help I received at any other company. If it were not for them I wouldn't be about to embark on my dream job. She has helped me get the flying start to my career that I would never have been able to attain on my own.

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...
Academic results get you so far, who you are as a person gets you success.

4. The strangest interview question I've ever been asked is...
If I was a Scorpio!

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Remember that it is a two way fit - do not just accept the first job you are offered, give yourself plenty of options and make sure that the choice is right for you. Find a recruiter you trust and work only with them. I found being signed to different agencies can lead to conflicting advice.

Name: Kristina

1. What were your first impressions of us?
Not knowing what to expect from a recruitment agency, I was slightly apprehensive about what to expect after joining the Graduate Recruitment Company - however immediately I was offered roles which I felt were tailored to exactly what I wanted out of a job. It was nice to feel that the team had thought about whether the roles were suited to me before offering them.

2. How did we help you?
Intense briefing before and after interviews helped me massively. From the emails prior to interviews explaining the things to focus on, and what the company were looking for in terms of personality traits, calling before an interview for a last minute checkup and calling after the interview to see how things went and then giving feedback if you were unsuccessful. This constant interaction with the Graduate Recruitment Company helped put me at ease and gave me the confidence to get the role I did.

Name: Vickram

Within the first few hours of signing me up I was told about a job and within 2 days I had my first interview! I was given advice which really helped in my interviews and after two weeks got a job offer. Before and after every interview you called to check how I was feeling.

3. I wish I'd known when I graduated that...
Most people don't know what they want to do.

4. The strangest interview question I've ever been asked is...
What did you do the last time someoen really pissed you off and how would your boyfriend and dad describe you?

5. What advice would you give to graduates still hunting for their first job?
Be patient and don't take the first job offered because you'll find a job for you even if it takes slightly longer. Don't feel you have to take every job or interview given to you.

1. What were your first impressions of us?
A great office in a good location immediately provided a sense of professionalism as well as openness due to the modernity of the office. Friendly staff on the phone helped to outline the role the Graduate Recruitment Company could play.

2. How did we help you?
Established a variety of interviews for positions that I wouldn't have otherwise come across. They provided alternative opportunities to those that are easily available. The Graduate Recruitment Company's biggest strength is being able to get people immediately into interviews which currently is the biggest struggle with so many applications for each position.

3. What would you say to friends looking for a similar job?
Sign up with a recruitment agency, and the Graduate Recruitment Company if you're sales focussed. At the very least take a look at the company; the roles available aren't suitable for everyone but there is such a smorgasboard of positions that there will be appealing positions among them.

4. What else would you like to say?
Thanks you for your time and help. It's much appreciated and it has proved to be a successful venture.

2. How did we help you?
By gaining me an interview that is well suited to what I am looking for. I was well prepared by my consultant the night before the interview with certain scenarios. This shone through in the interview as I was much more confident in answering anything they had to ask me. I was also called the morning of my interview to see how I was feeling about it all which I really appreciated. It showed me that they certainly wanted the best for me.

3. What would you say to friends looking for a similar job?
I would highly recommend the Graduate Recruitment Company. They were nothing short of helpful from the moment I stepped into their offices to the moment I accepted my job offer.
